Unit Tasks
EQ1: What is consciousness and how does it vary?
1. Read the document and do the levels of consciousness activity. We will discuss as a class. On the back, use the clip titled, "Altered States" to complete the back side of the consciousness document.
2. Answer your Essential Question #1.
3. Track one day's worth of waking consciousness. Choose 12 events from a day in chronological order. Describe each event in a few sentences and assign it a consciousness score from 1 to 10. One means barely awake and 10 means hyper focused and conscious. EQ2: What is going on during sleep?
4. Watch the clip on dreams as a primer for the sleep and dreams concept.

Clip #2 5. Read the document titled, sleep and dreams. Add it to a new Cornell Note template. 6. Answer Essential Question #2.
7. Sleep/Dream journal: Track 2 nights of sleep and dreams. Describe the following: 1. Quality of sleep 2. Length of sleep 3. Details of any dreams you can remember. If you can't remember your dreams, use any dreams from your life that you can remember. 8. Finish your journal and analysis project. |
