UNIT TASKSEQ 1: How do different psychologists view behavior?
1. Complete jigsaw activity on psychological approaches. Read and note your assigned approach and then compile the rest of the chart by checking in with your classmates and with Scott.
2. Apply your knowledge of the psychological perspectives/approaches by completing the sheet titled, "Applying the Psychological Perspectives."
3. Share responses with small group and class.
EQ2: What do psychologists do?
4. Use the "Timeline of Psychology as a Science" to begin your Cornell Notes. Scott will model how to begin.
5. Add "What is a Psychologist?" to your notes and answer the essential question. EQ3: How do psychologists observe and research?
6. Watch clip as a class as an introduction to psychological methods.
7. Read "Research Methods, Part One" and put information/reactions in your Cornell notes.
8. Begin Unit Project by making a draft of part one.
9. Read "Research Methods, Part Two" and add it to your Cornell Notes. Also, complete the scatterplot under the correlational method section. 10. Complete the activity called, "What Type of Research?"
11. Read the document titled, "Statistics in Psychology" and add it to your notes. The clip is a supplement to help understand the normal curve.
12. Follow along and copy down as Scott and classmates do a sample "data box," calculating mean, median, mode, range, standard deviation etc.
13. Complete the "Computing Your Own Data Box" sheet. 14. Do the reading on ethics and add it to your notes.
15. Answer your essential question for EQ3.
16. Double check to make sure that all notes are completed for Scott to check. (this happens the day before the test)
17. Complete your project and study for your test! Complete a peer revision if you can! |
