Unit Tasks1. Keep an eye out in Google Classroom for a new set of Cornell Notes to begin for Unit 3.
Essential Question #1: How do we learn, according to behavioral psychology?
2. Read the document titled, "Learning and Classical Conditioning" and watch the clips. Add relevant information to your Cornell notes based on the document only.
3. Read the document titled, "Operant Conditioning" and add information to your Cornell notes. We will watch clips as supplements but you will not need to note them.
4. Read the document titled, "Observational Learning and Other Learning Phenomenon." Add information to your Cornell notes. Also, watch the clip as a supplement.
5. Answer Essential Question 1.
Essential Question #2: What is memory and how does memory work?
6. Read the document and watch the clip on memory. Add relevant information to your new Cornell notes only from the document.
7. Read the article titled, "Trust Your Memory? Maybe You Shouldn't." Add relevant information to your Cornell notes. You will jigsaw the linked studies by Elizabeth Loftus as a means to organize what we add into notes.
8. Answer Essential Question 2.
Essential Question #3: What habits do our minds use to think and organize?
9. Do prototype and divergent thinking activity as class and discuss.
10. Read the document on thinking and add it to your Cornell notes and answer the Essential Question.
Essential Question #4: How do psychologists measure intelligence?
11. In preparation for class, please finishing watching the Battle of the Brains documentary on intelligence.
12. Read the following article, selecting 5 sentences/passages for a brief class discussion. You will share at least one of your passages with a small group, using the "Save The Last Word For Me" protocol.
13. Note and reflect on the document titled, "Intelligence" in your Cornell Notes.
14. Using what you've gained from the documentary, article and document, answer Essential Question 4.
15. Watch clip on language or read pages 372-382. Fill out the language vocabulary sheet below. No Cornell Notes. 16. Show Scott your notes and Essential Questions for a grade.
17. Take unit test on learning and cognition 18. Finish unit project and turn in. |
